The past, the present and the future walk into a bar… it was tense! Ok, we will spare you any further pain. What we are sure walked into our pub are these five archetypes:
1. The Manly Drinker
A manly drinker is the one that frequents bars during big sports games or event. Nothing is better than a cold beer and a big game, apart from maybe a cold beer with a few of his buddies or co-workers. Sharing is caring. The manly drinkers will most likely hog the side of the bar that has the best view of the television (which is why Hugo Chetcuti has ensured a number of them are present at Hugo’s Pub). Manly drinkers are required to slam their beer on the bar counter – to make a statement.
2. The Sophisticated one
They get all dressed up. These bar goers are usually easy to spot. Their high-end clothes and trendy personalities usually shine through. A sophisticated drinker is typically into top of the line drinks like scotch, bourbon or dirty vodka martinis. However, they also may like a good red wine or a craft stout beer.
3. The Local
The bartenders know him. They know what he’s going to order ’The usual?’ and where he’s going to sit. He seems to own the place.
4. The Rambunctious One
This is a bartender’s least favourite customer because they know sometime by the end of the night they will be babysitting this bar goer. The drunk has no real preference to what he is drinking as long as he is drinking. The more this visitor drinks, the louder and more rambunctious he gets.
5. The Fisherman
Whether sober or not, at some point this pub-goer will lose all ability to think with common decency and will hit on anything within a 5-mile-radius.
Pubs are filled with different personalities. Whether you are one of them or want to silently observe one, Hugo Chetcuti summons you to his beloved bar to study their behaviour. Carl Jung would be proud.
