Hotel Porter

The Hotel Porter will serve as the first point of contact to assist our guests with their luggage and to provide great customer service throughout their stay.

 

Responsibilities

 

-Arrange for taxi services upon request

-Comply with health and safety regulations

-Direct guests to the reception area for check-in/check-out

-Ensure building entrance is always free from clutter

-Ensure the safety of guests by, for instance, placing and removing signage that indicates wet floors etc

-Follow evacuation rules in case of emergencies

-Greet and welcome all guests in a polite and friendly manner

-Handle certain reception duties as necessary

-Maintain appearance, cleanliness, and safety standards in hotel at all times

-Run errands for guests as necessary

-Respond to guest requests and make sure they are comfortable throughout their stay

-Show guests to their room and explain facilities

-Provide information to the guests about the hotel and local points of interest

-Take suitcases and bags from guests or passengers checking in/checking out and, where applicable, tag them and provide customer identification slips

 

Qualifications & Assets:

-Proven work experience as a Porter or a similar role in the Hospitality industry

-Knowledge of security protocols

-Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

-Ability to work on a shift basis, evenings as well as weekends

-Excellent people and social skills

-Outstanding interpersonal, communication and organizational skills

-Previous work experience will be considered an asset
